RESPONSIBILITIES
• Design and implement high-caliber Music and Drama lessons that are engaging, inclusive, and well-structured, fostering creativity, performance abilities, and academic advancement across various year groups.
• Assign meaningful learning tasks and projects while providing timely assessments of student work, along with constructive feedback that aids in enhancing technique, confidence, and performance quality.
• Evaluate student learning through effective formative and summative methods, monitoring progress over time and adapting teaching strategies to accommodate diverse needs and skill levels.
• Engage in communication, consultation, and collaboration with colleagues and parents/guardians to prioritize each student’s best interests, ensuring consistent support for their learning, wellbeing, and involvement.
• Facilitate a stimulating after-school drama or music club, increasing participation, creating performance opportunities, and enhancing students’ enjoyment and confidence in the performing arts.
• Assist in fulfilling school priorities through various additional responsibilities as necessary, showcasing flexibility, dependability, and a proactive attitude in contributing beyond the classroom environment.
• Prepare students for performances, showcases, and events, which includes coordinating rehearsals, production logistics, and addressing technical requirements when necessary.
• Play an active role in curriculum development and resource planning within the department, sharing best practices and ensuring consistent standards across classes and productions.
• Foster an inclusive culture in the performing arts, ensuring access for all learners (including EAL/SEND as applicable) and promoting positive participation and teamwork.
REQUIREMENTS
• A university degree in Drama, Education, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in a teaching position within an international school program.
• Proficiency in international curricula, particularly American (AP) and British (IGCSE/A-Level) systems, with experience in delivering sports at the examination level.
• Proven achievements in performing arts at school, regional, or international levels.
• A solid track record of performances, showcases, and events, including rehearsal and production planning.
• Strategic vision, operational expertise, and outstanding organizational capabilities.
