Aldar Education is seeking a Head of Art for Noya British School in Abu Dhabi, with the position commencing in the Academic Year 2026/2027.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the academy in achieving its overall vision and strategic objectives while contributing to the specific targets outlined in the academy's improvement plan and self-evaluation document.
  • Comply with workplace health and safety regulations and adhere to the academy's policies regarding safe working practices and equal opportunity regulations.
  • Implement the academy's Performance Management Policy by setting ambitious annual targets and serving as a performance management reviewer if requested by the Principal.
  • Engage in annual training related to child protection, safeguarding, and health and safety, as well as any other training necessary for academy improvement or performance management.
  • Consistently follow the academy's staff dress code, including the compulsory wearing of photo ID/lanyard.
  • Ensure the classroom support is utilized effectively and efficiently.
  • Leverage performance data to inform planning, ensuring that Learning and Teaching initiatives continue to enhance student success.
  • Systematically evaluate and document students' progress, keeping records to confirm understanding and completion of tasks, monitoring strengths and areas for growth, informing planning, and acknowledging student achievement levels.
  • Participate in subject-specific or broader aspects of the academy's initiatives, developing plans that establish clear targets and success criteria for growth and/or maintenance, while contributing to the academy's overall visioning activities.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree and a PGCE in Education certification are required.
  • Teaching experience at the UK secondary level is essential; experience in an international school setting is advantageous.

Minimum Experience:

  • A minimum of 6 years of experience teaching Art.
  • A solid background in delivering the English National Curriculum.
  • Previous experience with students for whom English is a second language.

Job-Specific Knowledge & Skills:

  • Familiarity with the English curriculum and recent developments.
  • Knowledge of UAE Ministry of Education and ADEK regulations concerning curriculum, assessment, and compliance.
  • A commitment to the ideals of international education.
