About This Role

To fulfill the responsibilities of a teacher as required, in alignment with the school's policies and under the guidance of the Principal.

1. Pedagogy
Utilizing effective teaching methodologies that support students in becoming successful learners who strive for personal excellence by:
- Establishing relationships focused on learning
- Empowering students to become or prepare to be independent learners
- Leveraging assessment data to tailor progression for varying learner needs within the classroom
- Employing appropriate assessment methods for both formative and summative evaluations
- Providing high-quality feedback to students
- Encouraging students to reflect on their learning experiences
- Involving students in shaping their own learning processes
- Engaging parents in their children's learning through consistent dialogue.

2. Curriculum
- Showcasing a thorough understanding of the relevant curriculum
- Integrating critical thinking and reflective skills into the curriculum
- Assessing, recording, and reporting students' work and attending Parent Meetings to discuss individual student progress
- Teaching assigned classes, including supervising classes during staff absences
- Collaborating with colleagues to ensure curriculum continuity and progression
- Preparing students for and participating in internal and external examinations
- Setting suitable individual targets for students in accordance with school and departmental policies
- Participating in necessary training, including INSET days at the start of each term
- Promoting and engaging in personal continuous professional development
- Maintaining a high standard of discipline among students, ensuring their health and safety
- Being accountable for the overall performance of your teaching groups under the ‘Every Child Matters’ initiative:
- Encouraging students to feel safe and healthy
- Inspiring them to enjoy your subject and be happy
- Motivating students to contribute positively to lessons and achieve economic well-being
- Responding to student or parental concerns
- Actively participating in professional learning and development
- Continuously seeking to enhance teaching and learning strategies
- Building knowledge and skills related to Secondary education
- Engaging in the school's appraisal processes
- Ensuring a supportive and orderly learning environment:
- Supporting the school's positive policies and ethos of respect for all
- Organizing resources and creating an optimal classroom environment for learning.

3. Co-curricular Activities:
- Participating in Co or Extra-Curricular Activities to enrich the school experience for learners
- Engaging in Residential excursions as required
- Fulfilling other assigned duties as necessary.

4. Other Projects, Duties, and Responsibilities:
- Maintaining a working knowledge of teachers' professional responsibilities and legal liabilities
- Adhering to the school’s established policies and practices at all times
- Building effective and appropriate relationships with colleagues and parents
- Setting a positive example through presentation and professional conduct
- Collaborating with staff to ensure shared and effective resource usage for the benefit of the school and its learners
- Contributing to the school's community life through active participation in meetings and management systems necessary for school coordination
- Taking part in marketing and liaison activities, such as Open Days and events with stakeholders
- Completing any other reasonable requests from a manager to undertake similar level work not specifically outlined in this job description.

Job Specification

Years of Experience
- A minimum of 5 years' relevant teaching experience, preferably in an international school environment.
- Experience with the Cambridge curriculum is highly desirable.

Education
- At least a Bachelor’s degree in Education/Teaching or an equivalent qualification recognized by SSG/MOE in Singapore
- A higher degree or recognized professional qualification is preferred.

- Possess excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.

- Be computer literate, particularly in MS Office.

Language Abilities
- Proficient in written and spoken English. Proficiency in the local language is an advantage.

Professional Qualifications / Job License
- PGDE and/or PGCE is preferred.
- A Teacher’s License (NIE certification) is highly desirable.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
