About This Role

Primary Class Teacher (m/f/d)

St. George’s School is seeking a highly qualified individual to become a part of our dynamic Primary Department, with a start date in August 2026.

The School

For four decades, St. George’s School has been committed to supporting the international community in Cologne, combining a rich educational curriculum with a family-oriented ethos. From its humble beginnings, the school has transformed into a vibrant community of over 800 students, aged 2-18, representing more than 50 nationalities.

The school implements the National Curriculum throughout, offering the IB Diploma in the Sixth Form.

As a member of a network of three schools across Germany, St. George’s Cologne provides the successful applicant with exciting opportunities for professional development and advancement within the school group.

The Location

Located on a newly built campus on the outskirts of Cologne, St. George’s School enjoys excellent transport links to the city center and the broader Cologne-Bonn area.

Cologne, the fourth-largest city in Germany, is a bustling cultural center with a diverse international community. Situated in the heart of Europe, it offers a high standard of living alongside ample opportunities for travel and cultural discovery.

Cologne-Bonn Airport is only 20 km from the school, offering numerous daily flights to the UK, while a high-speed train service connects Cologne to London via Brussels.

The Role

We are eager to welcome a qualified Class Teacher to strengthen our expanding primary department.

The ideal candidate will be a passionate educator experienced in guiding students to achieve their fullest potential. We are looking for someone who possesses the right blend of knowledge, enthusiasm, and dedication to inspire our students.

As the school continues to grow, adaptability and a willingness to support colleagues are essential. An ongoing interest in enhancing the school’s rich pastoral and extracurricular offerings will be beneficial.

The class teacher acts as the main point of contact for students and parents, facilitating and guiding the academic, social, and emotional development of students, along with their overall well-being. Teachers are responsible for monitoring student progress closely and maintaining regular communication with parents.
