The Position
Aldar Education is in search of an exceptional English Teacher for the Middle School/High School Level to start immediately. This opportunity is located at ADNOC School - Abu Dhabi Campus.

Responsibilities:
• Foster a learning environment that promotes exceptional educational practices
• Establish clear teaching and learning aims
• Assign tasks that engage students and stimulate high levels of interest
• Set ambitious and appropriate expectations
• Define clear objectives that build upon previous achievements
• Identify students with special educational needs or exceptional abilities and ensure their needs are addressed through tailored approaches
• Provide structured lessons that maintain momentum, motivation, and challenge
• Utilize assessment effectively to support learning
• Leverage performance data and key indicators to guide lesson planning, ensuring lessons are differentiated
• Uphold discipline in line with the school’s ‘Behaviour for Learning Policy’ while promoting positive behavior in terms of punctuality, conduct, work standards, and homework
• Employ a variety of teaching methods to:
i. Align teaching methods with content, organize information, present key concepts, and select suitable vocabulary
ii. Engage in effective questioning, actively listen to students, and address errors and misunderstandings
iii. Choose appropriate learning resources and enhance study skills through the library, ICT, and other educational technologies
• Evaluate how well learning objectives have been met and utilize this information to refine specific teaching aspects
• Grade student work at least bi-weekly and establish progress targets
• Use performance data to inform lesson planning, ensuring that Learning and Teaching consistently ‘adds value’
• Systematically assess and document student progress, maintaining records that monitor understanding and completion of work, highlight strengths and areas for improvement, inform planning, and recognize achievement levels
• Conduct assessments as required by examination boards and school procedures
• Prepare and deliver informative reports to parents
• Participate in subject development by creating, reviewing, and updating curriculum plans and schemes of work
• Stay current in subject knowledge through continuous professional development and professional reading
• Attend relevant professional development workshops
• Undertake additional responsibilities as requested by the Principal or Vice Principal.
You must be a fully qualified teacher with:
• A passion for education and a caring nature
• A Bachelor’s degree in English or a related subject along with a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification and a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in the relevant field
• Familiarity with the American curriculum
• A commitment to a comprehensive enrichment program
• Recent, active participation in extracurricular activities
• Respect for all members of the school community
• Experience working with students for whom English is an additional language
• A positive, solution-oriented approach to professional life
• A clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services or Police check
