ADNOC Schools is on the lookout for a talented English Teacher for the Middle School/High School level, set to commence in August 2025. This position is available at ADNOC School - Abu Dhabi Campus.

Responsibilities:

  • Foster a learning environment that promotes excellence in teaching and learning
  • Define clear teaching and learning objectives
  • Assign tasks that engage students and maintain high levels of interest
  • Establish appropriate and challenging expectations
  • Set clear goals that build on students' previous achievements
  • Recognize students with special educational needs or exceptional abilities, ensuring their needs are met through differentiated instruction
  • Provide structured lessons that maintain engagement, motivation, and challenge
  • Utilize assessment effectively to enhance learning
  • Leverage performance data and key indicators to inform lesson planning and deliver tailored instruction
  • Uphold discipline in line with the school’s ‘Behaviour for Learning Policy’ while promoting punctuality, behavior, work standards, and homework completion
  • Employ a variety of teaching strategies to:
    • Align methods with content, organize information, highlight key ideas, and utilize appropriate vocabulary
    • Implement effective questioning techniques, attentively listen to students, and address errors and misconceptions
    • Choose suitable learning resources and cultivate study skills through the library, ICT, and other educational technologies
  • Evaluate the achievement of learning objectives and use this feedback to refine teaching methods
  • Grade student work at least biweekly and set progress targets
  • Utilize performance data to guide planning, ensuring that learning and teaching continue to add value
  • Systematically assess and document student progress, maintaining records to monitor understanding and completion, identify strengths and areas for improvement, and inform planning
  • Conduct assessments as required by examination bodies, departmental, and school protocols
  • Prepare and present detailed reports to parents
  • Participate in subject development by creating, reviewing, and updating curriculum plans and schemes of work
  • Stay current with subject knowledge through continuous professional development and reading
  • Attend relevant professional development workshops
  • Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by the Principal or Vice Principal.

You must be a fully qualified teacher with:

  • A passion for teaching and a caring approach to education
  • A Bachelor’s degree in English or a related field, alongside a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification, with a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in the relevant area
  • Familiarity with the American curriculum
  • A commitment to a comprehensive enrichment program
  • Active involvement in extracurricular activities
  • Respect for all members of the school community
  • Experience working with students
