About This Role

The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

  • Possess a valid Manitoba Teacher's Certificate or be eligible to obtain certification in Manitoba.
  • Hold a music major/minor or a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), along with considerable experience in choral music programs.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in piano, with additional instrumental knowledge being a plus.
  • Exhibit high energy levels and a strong commitment to advancing our exceptional choral program.
  • Have proven teaching experience in a junior/senior high school setting.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and music professionals within the R.D. Parker music team.
  • Flexibility to conduct classes outside of regular school hours.
  • Experience working with I.D.E.A.L. students.
  • Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Show expertise in differentiating instruction to meet the varied needs of all students.
  • Recognize and value the traditions and objectives of students from diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  • Dedication to culturally responsive education.
  • Willingness to co-plan and accompany students to annual festivals and senior music tours.

Compensation includes one of the most competitive salary packages within the province, with pay rates established by the current collective agreement with the Manitoba Teacher's Society. A relocation allowance of $4,000.00 may be offered upon receipt submission, in accordance with Administrative Procedures 2.A.040, which can be accessed on the School District of Mystery Lake's website.
