About This Role

School Description
Awsaj Academy is a specialized institution catering to over 700 students from Pre-3 to Grade 12 with a range of learning needs and challenges. The majority of our students have mild to moderate learning difficulties, while some present more complex challenges due to specific medical diagnoses. As the sole school of its kind in Qatar, Awsaj Academy stands out as a regional leader in education for students with disabilities.

The Academy provides high-quality academic, social, emotional, and research-driven programs through a curriculum responsive to the unique needs and abilities of our students. Our multi-tiered support systems ensure that students receive appropriate behavioral, therapeutic, and academic interventions that facilitate their success in further education, higher learning, employment, and community engagement.

Awsaj Academy is accredited by international organizations and offers a High School diploma in alignment with American Standards. For students who are not suited to the diploma track, we provide a dedicated pathway for special needs education.

Instruction is primarily conducted in English across most subjects, with Arabic, Islamic Studies, and Qatar History taught in Arabic. Over 98% of our students are Qatari and English Language Learners. Our classes are co-educational, focusing on dual-language strategies.

Located in the heart of Qatar Foundation's innovative Education City, Awsaj Academy is equipped with outstanding teaching and learning facilities. Our students face a variety of learning challenges, necessitating a dynamic, adaptable, and responsive educational environment. Classrooms maintain a teacher-student ratio of roughly 1:10, supported by specialized resource bases such as Empower and Nurture, staffed by teachers, instructional assistants, and interventionists.

Our holistic approach is underpinned by a strong multi-disciplinary team that includes therapists, psychologists, and specialists. Additionally, we have education counselors, a school nurse, and behavior specialists on staff. Our specialized team for Arabic and Islamic Studies supports students across the learning spectrum.

At the heart of Awsaj Academy is the conviction that every child matters and belongs. We are committed to never giving up on our students, respecting and addressing the challenges they encounter throughout their educational journey.
