About This Role

The Korean International School is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Primary Learning Support Teacher to become a part of our inclusive education team. The ideal candidate will show a strong dedication to cultivating an inclusive, equitable, and neurodiversity-affirming educational environment, along with expertise in assisting learners with varied learning profiles in a mainstream setting.

Job Responsibilities:


Promote a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout the school


Work collaboratively with homeroom teachers to create and execute differentiated instruction, accommodations, and universal design for learning (UDL) strategies


Lead, mentor, and coordinate with Learning Support Teaching Assistants to enhance student support schedules and initiatives


Design, implement, and evaluate individualized student support plans, including Individual Educational Programs (IEP)


Provide focused, evidence-based interventions to students in either one-on-one or small group formats, employing both in-class (push-in) and specialized (pull-out) models


Keep track of student progress through formative assessments and maintain clear, ongoing communication with the multidisciplinary team, including staff, parents, and external specialists


Conduct admissions screenings and learning needs assessments for prospective students, offering recommendations to the admissions team regarding student placement and necessary support structures for a successful transition


Coordinate and take part in student support meetings, IEP reviews, Parent-Teacher Conferences, and relevant staff meetings


Contribute to professional development training on neurodiversity and community awareness initiatives


Engage in ongoing professional development to stay updated on best practices in inclusive and special education


Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by the Head of Learning Support, Vice Principal, or Principal

Qualifications and Requirements:


A Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Special Education, or a closely related field is required


A recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, PGDE, or equivalent) is necessary


At least three years of relevant, recent experience in a learning support role within a primary mainstream educational context


Familiarity with the English National Curriculum and International Primary Curriculum (IPC) is preferred


Experience in creating, implementing, and assessing individualized student support plans and IEPs


Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, parents, and external professionals


Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and motivational abilities


Proficiency in educational technology and digital tools to support teaching, learning, and student data management
