About This Role
Northview International School (NVIS) is on the lookout for a dedicated and student-focused EAL Teacher to become part of our expanding international team in Doha, Qatar.
We seek an educator who can immerse students in impactful language-learning experiences while nurturing their communication abilities, cultural understanding, and confidence in English. The ideal candidate will assist multilingual learners in enhancing their reading and writing skills, empowering them to engage with the broader curriculum and fully participate in school activities.

The Role
The selected candidate will instruct English as an Additional Language across various grade levels, delivering interactive lessons in accordance with the American curriculum framework and aiding multilingual learners in acquiring the necessary language skills to engage with the wider curriculum.
Key responsibilities include:

Designing and executing captivating EAL lessons rooted in the American curriculum
•
Assisting students in enhancing their reading, writing, and speaking abilities in English
•
Employing student-centered instructional methods that promote communication, collaboration, and language growth
•
Incorporating technology and various resources to foster active learning
•
Evaluating and tracking student advancement through both formative and summative assessments
•
Fostering an inclusive classroom atmosphere where students feel encouraged and challenged
•
Working in partnership with colleagues to enhance curriculum development and instructional strategies
•
Engaging in the broader school community through extracurricular initiatives and outreach
Qualifications and Experience
•
A Bachelor’s degree in English, Linguistics, or a related discipline
•
A recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent)
•
Experience in teaching English as an Additional Language
•
Familiarity with or training in an American curriculum framework
•
A dedication to student-centered learning and inquiry-based teaching
•
Effective classroom management and communication skills
Experience in an international school environment is preferred but not mandatory.
