About This Role

Job Overview

Under the direction of the Campus Principal, the School Head is tasked with developing a comprehensive school growth strategy that includes both long-term and short-term objectives while guiding the team to meet these targets each academic year. The Head of School is responsible for ensuring that all staff members are aligned with the school's vision, mission, and expectations, as well as driving transformation, managing complex challenges, fostering innovation, and continuously seeking to enhance outcomes. Familiarity with school budget management is essential.

Key Responsibilities


1. Provide clear leadership and supportive management to the Senior Leadership Team at Adcote Matrix International School.

2. Collaborate with and assist the Campus Principal in integrating an Internationalised educational philosophy that complements the campus culture, aligns with the school’s strategic development, motivates and nurtures existing faculty and staff, and fosters a sense of belonging among them. Ensure effective communication throughout the school, promoting appropriate staff involvement in decision-making processes.

3. Partner with and support the Campus Principal in applying international best practices to the day-to-day functioning of the school.

4. Work alongside and support the Campus Principal in achieving academic management and development objectives, including but not limited to:

a) Leading and supporting the school's teaching system, curriculum design, and teaching quality management, ensuring that best practices in international pedagogy are effectively implemented across all educational sectors.

b) Overseeing and supporting the management of teaching staff across departments, establishing and refining management systems, staff evaluation standards, and talent development plans.

c) Inspire students with vision and enthusiasm, nurturing a supportive school environment by showing genuine interest in their needs, encouraging high standards of behavior through a discipline policy rooted in self-discipline and respect, and addressing disciplinary issues fairly.

d) Supervise the advancement of moral education within the school, guiding relevant departments in establishing professional and ethical standards for teachers, developing annual work plans, and evaluating the implementation of social investigations, practices, sports activities, family education guidance, and home-school communication.

5. Engage in and support the promotion of the school's brand, student enrollment, and retention efforts, collaborating with all departments to meet the financial targets set by the school’s organizers.

6. Guide and support the bursar to ensure smooth operations in several areas, including:

a) Assisting in the management of human resources, optimizing organizational structure for operational efficiency, establishing human resource protocols, controlling personnel costs, setting performance goals, and overseeing recruitment and talent development.

b) Supporting the school's information systems, facility upkeep, campus security, logistics support, and student assistance.

Qualification & Experiences:

• A Master’s degree or recognized postgraduate qualification.

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in teaching, education administration, curriculum development, and assessment practices, including IGCSE and A-level academic management.

• Proven experience in mentoring and leading a school within a collaborative learning setting.

• Background in teacher evaluation and professional development.

• Experience in curriculum design.

• Familiarity with boarding and pastoral responsibilities, including evening duties and after-school extracurricular activities, is a plus.

• Strong knowledge of independent school management, particularly regarding instructional practices, school culture, and operations.

• Familiarity with the international school application process.

• An appreciation for academic balance across the arts, experiential learning, humanities, and sciences.

• A solid commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
