About This Role
We are looking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher of English to join our successful English Department. English is at the heart of the curriculum at Shevington High School, and we are looking for someone who shares our ambition to provide an excellent experience for every student and secure strong outcomes.
The successful candidate will have strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver high-quality English teaching across KS3 and KS4. Our curriculum is well established and comprehensively resourced, with detailed schemes of work, lesson materials and supporting resources in place. We are looking for a teacher who will make effective use of these resources while bringing their own subject expertise and enthusiasm to the classroom and working collaboratively with colleagues.

Alongside delivering high-quality lessons, we want someone who will have high expectations for every student, foster a genuine engagement with the subject and contribute positively to the continued development of English within the school.

Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering high-quality English teaching across KS3 and KS4.
- Using and adapting the department’s established curriculum and resources to meet the needs of all students.
- Supporting students to achieve strong outcomes through effective teaching, assessment and intervention.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to the continued success and development of the English Department.
- Contributing to enrichment and wider opportunities that develop students’ engagement with English.
