About This Role

Join the vibrant team at Brighton College Dubai! We are expanding and are looking for outstanding teachers to start with us in January.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Act as an ambassador for the College at all times, both within the school and throughout the United Arab Emirates.
- Teach assigned classes, fulfill staff duties as designated by the CLT, and actively participate in the Co-Curricular Activities program by leading at least two activities each week.
- Prepare lessons and documentation required for KHDA inspections and other accreditation processes.

Teaching and Learning:
- Inspire each student to achieve their academic potential through enthusiastic and personalized teaching, providing tailored stretch and challenge, and maintaining rigorous records with follow-up.
- Adhere to all College policies, including those related to marking, assessment, teaching, learning, and reporting.
- Develop and share schemes of work and resources using the established formats.
- Assist in covering for colleagues as needed.
- Attend all required meetings and INSET sessions.
- Prepare, supervise, and assess internal and external tests and examinations as necessary.

Professional Responsibilities:
- Foster pride in the College among students through high standards of dress, behavior, and commitment.
- Ensure all communication is acted upon promptly and appropriately.
- Participate in Parents’ Evenings, Assemblies, Productions, Sporting Events, and Special Events.
- Take responsibility for all College resources in your care, reporting any damage or loss to your line manager or the facilities manager as appropriate.
- Contribute to the College’s website, social media, and publications as needed.
- Assist in the College’s Self Evaluation and Development Plan.
- Build strong partnerships with parents, initiating contact as appropriate and maintaining a record of such interactions.
- Be present in school for the required number of staff hours as confirmed by the School's operating hours.
- Fulfill any reasonable professional requests made by the Head Master, Head of the Preparatory School, or a member of the CLT.

Pastoral:
- Take an active interest in each child's personal and domestic circumstances, supporting their personal and social development.
- Maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Actively promote the social, moral, and cultural ethos of the College community.
- Create a supportive atmosphere by being aware of and adhering to all College policies, including the Code of Conduct, School Rules, and Anti-Bullying Policy.
- Be knowledgeable about all College Health and Safety policies and proactively ensure the safety of all community members at all times.
- Consistently encourage exemplary behavior and a responsible attitude among students.
- Be aware of and act in accordance with all policies regarding child safeguarding.

Person Specification:
- The ideal candidate will possess the ability and experience to teach Arabic and Islamic studies from FS 1 to Year 6.
- Essential qualities include the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team, and to present a warm, engaging, and approachable personality to parents, students, and colleagues. Reliability and respectfulness are key.
- The successful candidate will hold a university degree (preferably dual honours) and a teaching qualification from a recognized institution.
- They must have subject-specific and professional qualifications that meet KHDA standards for teaching in the relevant subject area.
- A strong track record of teaching, adaptability to the demands of a premier school, and a capacity for creativity and innovation across and beyond the curriculum is crucial.
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development, with a positive and proactive attitude towards participation in CPD and the College’s PDR and appraisal processes.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure with excellent organizational skills.
- Confident and competent in using IT for classroom instruction and administrative tasks.
- Actively engage in all aspects of College life through participation and support.
- Present a professional image that aligns with the high expectations of Brighton College.
- The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience.
- For suitably qualified and experienced applicants, leadership opportunities may be available within subject areas or across faculty, with responsibilities expected to evolve as the School grows in enrollment and curriculum offerings.
