ABOUT THE COMMUNITY

Skownan School caters to students from Nursery through Grade 9, serving a total of 130 learners with a committed team of 10 educators and 17 support staff. Situated in Skownan, approximately one and a half hours northeast of Dauphin, the community provides essential services including a gas station, convenience store, restaurant, and health centre. The local economy thrives on hunting, fishing, and eco-tourism initiatives.

WHAT YOU BRING

• A Bachelor of Education Degree and a valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate (or the ability to obtain one).
• A strong grasp of provincial curricula.
• Previous experience in music education, with proficiency in guitar, keyboard, and other instruments.
• Familiarity with technology used in schools.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• Knowledge of Indigenous Way of Life is considered advantageous.
• Experience in a northern community is also viewed as a benefit.
