Middle School Social Studies Teacher (Common Core)

Key Responsibilities
• Provide Social Studies instruction to middle school students that aligns with Common Core standards
• Develop and execute engaging lessons that stimulate critical thinking, inquiry, and classroom discussions
• Foster historical knowledge, global awareness, and civic responsibility among students
• Implement differentiated instructional strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners
• Assess student performance and maintain comprehensive records of their progress
• Offer timely and constructive feedback to students and parents
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that prioritizes student well-being
• Integrate educational technology to enhance teaching and promote student engagement
• Collaborate with colleagues to improve interdisciplinary learning and ensure curriculum coherence
• Participate in school events, advisory programs, and community outreach initiatives
• Support and engage in mindfulness and well-being programs offered at the school
Skills & Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Education, History, Social Studies, or a related field
• Valid teaching certification or license is preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching middle school social studies
• Strong understanding of Common Core or international curriculum standards
• Ability to design engaging lessons that promote inquiry and critical thinking
• Proficient classroom management and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse international school community
• Skilled in utilizing educational technology for teaching and assessment purposes
