Berens River School serves students from Nursery through Grade 9, with an enrollment of approximately 400 students. Located on the eastern shore of Lake Winnipeg, this lively community has about 3,546 residents and is roughly a four-hour drive north of Winnipeg. The charming town features essential amenities such as a general store, a Northern store, and a community hall. The breathtaking natural surroundings provide a recreational paradise, perfect for outdoor activities such as fishing, hiking, and canoeing.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Education Degree and a valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate (or eligibility)
• In-depth knowledge of provincial Early Years curricula
• Previous experience in Early Years education
• Proficiency in school-based technology
• Understanding of Indigenous Way of Life
• Experience in integrating Indigenous culture and land-based education into the curriculum
• Strong classroom management skills
• Background in supporting students with diverse needs
• Dedication to differentiated instruction
• Willingness to engage with best practices and self-reflect
• A collaborative team member who recognizes the potential in all students
• Motivated and self-directed
