DUTIES

Under the supervision of the Finance Officer, the Accounting Clerk will handle the entry of financial information into subsidiary ledgers and the general ledger, prepare journal entries, conduct month-end processing, and perform bank reconciliations. This role supports both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, collaborating across various sectors of the Finance Department to offer operational support and coverage as needed. The Accounting Clerk will work closely with Finance staff and management to promote effective and efficient operations within the department.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Completion of some post-secondary accounting courses and/or a certified accounting course; other relevant combinations of education and experience may also be considered
• Experience in accounting within a financial or business setting
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams), along with Adobe and Zoom
• Strong attention to detail and precision
• Excellent customer service abilities
• Capacity to prioritize and manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines in a fast-paced office environment
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
• Superior organizational skills
• Strong critical thinking and analytical abilities
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to ongoing learning

Assets:
• Business Administration Certificate or Diploma with an emphasis on Accounting
• Experience with Colleague software
• Familiarity with Indigenous cultures
