Se-Se-Wa-Hum School Special Education Teacher
Se-Se-Wa-Hum School, situated in Big River First Nation, is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Special Education Teacher to become part of their team for the 2026-2027 academic year.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Crafting and executing lesson plans that cover a diverse range of subjects.
• Assessing and grading students' understanding and performance in the material.
• Engaging in discussions with students and parents regarding educational matters.
• Fostering a positive, inclusive, and secure learning atmosphere that supports student success.
• Designing lesson plans and instructional strategies in alignment with school standards.
• Administering assessments to evaluate student progress and pinpoint areas for improvement.
• Creating a stimulating learning environment tailored to individual student needs.
• Developing and utilizing lesson plans and instructional resources by organizing various activities such as quizzes, competitions, and group discussions.
• Overseeing and managing classroom behavior and activities.
Requirements:
• Strong scheduling capabilities.
• Excellent organizational abilities.
• Bachelor of Education degree and a Saskatchewan Professional A teaching certificate.
• Effective classroom management skills.
• Capability to instruct students with diverse learning needs.
• Familiarity with the Saskatchewan Curriculum.
• Cross-Cultural experience is advantageous.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
• Must be able to provide a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract, Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check.
• Must be able to provide verification of previous teaching experience (if applicable).
