We are looking for dedicated IB PYP Homeroom Teachers to become part of our founding team as we initiate the Primary Years Programme (PYP). This is a unique opportunity to influence the classroom atmosphere and play a crucial role in the early development of our school.

Job Overview
The IB PYP Homeroom Teacher will be instrumental in the establishment and execution of the Primary Years Programme at Tirana American International School (TAIS). As a member of the founding team, the right candidate will help create a robust inquiry-based learning environment that aligns with the principles of the IB curriculum.

TAIS is being designed as a novel eco-campus in Albania, providing an innovative educational setting that intertwines learning with nature, sustainability, and contemporary international standards.

In collaboration with the PYP Coordinator and school leadership, the teacher will assist in implementing the programme during the candidacy stage, participating in the creation of Units of Inquiry, cooperative planning, and fostering a positive, student-focused classroom atmosphere.

Qualification & Experience Requirements
• A certified teacher with a background in primary education
• Experience with or a strong interest in the IB PYP
• Knowledge of inquiry-based and student-centered learning approaches
• Excellent classroom management and communication abilities
• Experience in an international school setting is preferred

Key Responsibilities
• Design and implement engaging, inquiry-driven lessons
• Contribute to the creation of Units of Inquiry
• Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment
• Tailor instruction to accommodate diverse learning needs
• Collaborate with colleagues and actively engage in the school community

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
