Job Specification:

Teaching and Learning


Exhibit expertise, enthusiasm, and creativity in the implementation of age-appropriate pedagogy.


Plan and deliver the approved curriculum accurately.


Design lessons and units of study with clear learning objectives.


Clearly communicate the learning objectives to students in a logical and age-appropriate manner.


Address the learning needs of all students, including those entering late, language learners, and those with varying academic abilities.


Evaluate daily and weekly plans to ensure they build on current and prior achievements.


Seek out opportunities within the curriculum for hands-on experiences and utilize diverse instructional resources rather than relying solely on textbooks.


Monitor and track each child’s progress, ensuring all assessments, marking, and class records are current.


Return assignments promptly with constructive feedback, highlighting strengths and areas for growth.


Utilize assessments effectively to establish realistic and challenging improvement targets and plan future instruction.


Employ questioning and explanation techniques to maximize student progress.


Promote consistently high expectations for student behavior and attitudes towards learning.

Qualifications and Skills:

Required:


Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.


Ability to assess speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders proficiently.


Capable of using formal and informal assessment tools to identify speech and communication challenges in students.


Expertise in creating and implementing individualized therapy plans aligned with students’ educational objectives.


Experience with evidence-based practices for addressing articulation, language development, social communication, and fluency disorders.


Strong collaborative skills to work effectively within a team of teachers, parents, and other specialists.


Effective communication skills to instruct and guide teachers and staff on strategies to assist students in the classroom.


Understanding of how communication disorders affect academic success and social interaction.


Ability to connect with students and families from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.


Ability to teach foundational Literacy and Numeracy concepts to Primary LS students through various modalities.


Certification in teaching from a recognized institution and/or Board.


Police clearance for working with children and in educational settings.


Strong communication abilities in the language(s) of instruction.


Good interpersonal skills for engaging with students, parents, and staff.


Capability to supervise students in non-classroom environments.


Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Preferred:


Master's degree in Speech and Language Pathology.


Registration or certification to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist.


Training in school-based speech-language therapy.


Experience in an internationally accredited school or a national/state school in an English-speaking country.


Experience and certification in teaching school programs.


Strong communication skills in English (if not the language of instruction).

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
