Position Overview
We are on the lookout for a fully qualified and experienced Teacher of Biology and Science to become part of our enthusiastic and dedicated team. The ideal applicant will possess a strong passion for teaching, a dedication to the comprehensive education of children, and be a collaborative team player aligned with the school’s ethos, values, and objectives.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· A recognized degree in Science from an accredited university, along with a PGCE, QTS, or another internationally acknowledged teaching qualification.
· A minimum of three years' experience teaching Science at KS3 and Biology at KS4–5, with a demonstrated history of success in I/GCSE and A Level examinations.
· Exhibit exemplary teaching practices in the classroom; preferably verified by external sources.
· Have a solid understanding of effective teaching methods, learning strategies, and the strategic use of assessment to enhance student learning, alongside effective data utilization.
· Demonstrate the effect of teaching on the progression of individual groups and cohorts.
· Be prepared to work with small groups of students, including those with SEND, to offer focused support and ensure their advancement.
· Show a commitment to ongoing professional development and teamwork with colleagues.
· Be proficient in using Microsoft Office/Office 365 applications; familiarity with SIMS is a plus.
· Possess a thorough understanding of Safeguarding and Child Protection best practices, supported by recent training.
· Take an active role in a variety of school-related extracurricular activities.
· Be a supportive team member, upholding the Catholic ethos, values, and objectives of the school, and dedicated to the holistic education of students.
· Provide pastoral, academic, and behavioral support to students.
· Keep accurate records of student progress and engage in formal assessment procedures.
· Assist parents with referrals to external agencies when necessary.
· Collaborate with parents, staff, and students on Individual Education Plans.
· Communicate effectively with parents through reports and meetings.
· Engage in and lead extracurricular activities.
Salary and Benefits:
· A competitive salary between CI$55,000 - CI$68,500 per annum, tax-free, depending on experience and qualifications.
