Substitute Teachers
The Substitute Teacher is responsible for providing temporary instructional support when regular classroom teachers are unavailable. The main objective is to ensure the continuity of education by adhering to established lesson plans, engaging students in valuable activities, and upholding the school’s mission, values, and classroom standards.
REQUIREMENTS:

Proficient in English.
•
Possession of a teacher certification or a degree in education.
•
Experience in teaching with a focus on student-centered, inquiry-based approaches.
•
Demonstrated ability to engage students in active learning that values each student’s unique contributions and fosters collaborative knowledge-building and skill development.
•
Proven experience applying effective classroom management techniques to create learning environments that encourage student ownership, responsibility, and community.
•
A positive demeanor and readiness to collaborate with colleagues to provide optimal support for students.
•
A shared dedication to fostering a positive classroom culture where students feel a sense of belonging in the learning environment.
•
Experience utilizing observations alongside other assessment methods to track student progress and ensure meaningful engagement for every student.
•
Comfortable using various technology tools for lesson implementation and documenting student learning.
•
Preferably, at least two years of experience as a lead teacher.
•
Ability to collaborate with support teachers and other professionals to accommodate individual student needs.
•
IB/DP experience is preferred for high school substitute assignments.
