Job Description

Working Location: Him Lam International School, Him Lam Green Park, Bac Ninh, Viet Nam

Him Lam International School Bac Ninh is seeking a Homeroom teacher with a proven background in teaching Primary School students, particularly in English as a Second/Additional Language. The Homeroom teacher will be tasked with delivering core subjects as part of the Cambridge International curriculum.

The objective is to enhance student learning outcomes by implementing effective teaching and learning practices in line with the school's Mission, Vision, Core Values, Learning Principles, and Learner Sphere, Culture, as well as relevant national and international programs.

To succeed in the role of Primary Homeroom teacher, candidates must hold a qualification in Primary Education. The ideal candidate should possess a friendly demeanor that fosters an engaging learning environment. Ultimately, an exceptional Primary teacher should inspire students through meaningful and enjoyable activities, creating a supportive atmosphere for learning.

I. Duties
● Design, organize, and deliver English-language instruction aligned with the Cambridge curriculum and school standards, catering to diverse learning styles, abilities, and needs of students.
● Create and implement lesson plans that incorporate a variety of effective teaching techniques and strategies tailored to individual student success.
● Address all communication aspects through suitable instruction that enhances each student’s knowledge and skills in their respective grade levels and subjects.
● Conduct academic assessments to evaluate student progress towards achieving learning targets and knowledge acquisition, providing necessary written and oral progress reports to relevant parties.
● Monitor and assess student wellbeing as both a subject teacher and homeroom teacher, promoting their personal and social growth.
● Establish and uphold standards of student behavior to ensure a well-organized and productive classroom environment.
● Maintain continual awareness of the needs of students for whom English is an additional language.
● Adapt lesson plans to ensure appropriate differentiation for students with additional needs.
● Collaborate with fellow teachers to exchange innovative ideas, methods, and professional insights.
● Engage regularly with SEN and EAL teams to ensure a comprehensive approach to students at various developmental levels.
● Track student attendance in lessons and follow up on their participation and the quality of classwork, homework, and other assignments.
● Keep accurate records and submit lesson plans for approval to the Head of International Programme, under the guidance of the School Director.
● Maintain professional and clear communication with parents, keeping them informed about their children's progress and status. Ensure parent communication platforms are updated according to the guidelines set at the beginning of the academic year, adding additional information upon request.
● Take part in curriculum development, homeroom activities, extracurricular programs, and other educational initiatives.
● Participate in school events such as Open Day, Admissions Day, After School Activities, PD training, or Parent-Teacher Conferences.
● Supervise assigned out-of-classroom activities during school hours, as needed.
● Foster positive relationships and communication with fellow staff members.
● Ensure effective use of resources, materials, and equipment.
● Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Head of the International Programme, who serves as the direct line manager, or the School Director.

II. Requirements
1. Education
● Bachelor's/Master's degree in Primary/Elementary Education.
● Valid teaching certificate/license in relevant subjects.
2. Experience
● At least 3 years of teaching experience in a similar role within an international or bilingual school environment.
● Previous experience with the Cambridge curriculum is preferred.
3. Skills & Knowledge
● Native-level proficiency in English.
● Creativity, flexibility, adaptability, and enthusiasm for teaching diverse learners from various cultural backgrounds, languages, abilities, interests, and personalities.
● Proficiency in using technology effectively in teaching and learning, including online learning management systems, online collaboration tools, or online assessment tools.

Compensation

β‚«45,000,000 - β‚«70,000,000 per month (A housing allowance will be provided separately)
