The Position

The Head of Department will report directly to the Executive Principal through Academic Management.

The individual in this role will oversee a team of specialized subject teachers, which is anticipated to expand significantly alongside the growth in student enrollment. This person will be tasked with advancing the subject across all grade levels within the School. Strong organizational capabilities are essential, along with a passion for teaching, a dynamic and innovative approach, and a commitment to diverse teaching methods that align with the School's mission and objectives.

Qualifications

• a high-quality degree focusing primarily on the relevant subject;

• a formal teaching qualification may be beneficial;

• a genuine interest in ongoing training and professional development;

Skills and Experience:

• the ability to teach the subject proficiently and confidently to students aged 11-18 (Chinese Grades 6 to 12), with current knowledge in the subject area;

• a readiness to meet the needs of students for whom English is a second language is crucial;

• proficiency in ICT and strong technical skills, with the ability to quickly adapt to new systems and processes, particularly concerning the SchoolPal platform, which also functions as our VLE;

• strong organizational and administrative abilities;

• the capacity to engage in the extra-curricular activities of the School is highly valued;

• a readiness to assist the Admissions and Marketing teams is essential;

• relevant experience in teaching, examination, or the commercial sector will be considered an asset.
