Upper School Head of Science

Inherited from 450 years of educational excellence at Harrow School, UK, Asia International School Limited (AISL) boasts over 20 years of experience in the educational sector, having established international schools in Bangkok (1998), Beijing (2005), Hong Kong (2012), and Shanghai (2016).

Harrow International School (HIS) and Harrow LiDe School Haikou represent a significant initiative for the Hainan government as it aims to develop Haikou into an international education hub. Harrow Haikou is the first globally recognized educational institution in the province and is set to redefine the standards of high-quality education in the region.

Conveniently located in Jiangdong District, between Jiangdong Avenue and Linhai Third Road, Harrow Haikou offers K-12 international and bilingual education for both local and foreign day and boarding students. The schools opened their doors in September 2020.

We are looking for exceptional staff to fill positions starting in August 2025. Successful candidates will receive two-year renewable contracts featuring highly competitive employment terms and exceptional working conditions.

We encourage applications from educators in the UK state and independent sectors as well as those with international experience. There may also be opportunities to work with our boarding students.

• A relevant degree, along with a UK PGCE or other teaching qualification that provides QTS
• At least two years of teaching experience
• Knowledge of the National Curriculum of England (including IGCSE/GCSE and/or A Levels, as applicable)
• A genuine passion for teaching and a commitment to the holistic development of students
• A high standard of professionalism and a focus on children's well-being
• Recent and consistent engagement in extracurricular activities
• Respect for all members of the school community, regardless of their role, age, or ethnic background
• Previous experience with students for whom English is not the first language
• An optimistic and solution-oriented approach to work
• A clean International Child Protection Certificate (ICPC) or police check (for applicants who have not worked in the UK) with no concerns regarding suitability to work with children
