Upper School Head of Science

Inherited from 450 years of educational excellence at Harrow School, UK, Asia International School Limited (AISL) boasts over 20 years of experience in the education sector, having established international schools in Bangkok (1998), Beijing (2005), Hong Kong (2012), and Shanghai (2016).

Harrow International School (HIS) and Harrow LiDe School Haikou represent a significant initiative for the Hainan government as it aims to develop Haikou into an international education center. Harrow Haikou is the province's first globally recognized educational institution, poised to elevate the standards of high-quality education throughout the area.

Situated in the Jiangdong District, north of Jiangdong Avenue and south of Linhai Third Road, Harrow Haikou offers K-12 international and bilingual education for both local and foreign day and boarding students. The schools opened their doors in September 2020.

We are currently looking for highly qualified staff for positions beginning in August 2025. Successful candidates will receive two-year renewable contracts that include competitive employment terms and excellent working conditions.

We invite applications from educators in both the UK state and independent sectors, as well as those currently working internationally. There may also be opportunities available to work with our boarding students.

Please apply for this position if you fulfill the following criteria:

- Relevant degree, along with UK PGCE or another teaching qualification that provides QTS
- At least two years of teaching experience
- Knowledge of the National Curriculum of England, including IGCSE/GCSE and/or A Levels where applicable
- A genuine passion for teaching and a commitment to nurturing the whole child
- A strong sense of professionalism and concern for children's well-being
- Recent and consistent participation in extracurricular activities
- Respect for all individuals within the school community, regardless of their role, age, or ethnic background
- Experience working with students for whom English is a second language
- A positive, solution-oriented approach to professional challenges
- A clean International Child Protection Certificate (ICPC) or police check (for applicants without prior UK work experience), with no concerns regarding suitability to work with children
