About This Role
Key Responsibilities
•
Create and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons.
•
Lead departmental planning, which involves curriculum mapping, assessment strategies, and ensuring alignment with school goals and external exam criteria.
•
A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Head of Department position.
•
Customize teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students, promoting academic growth across all levels.
•
Cultivate a positive, inclusive, and well-organized classroom environment that promotes high standards and encourages student involvement.
•
Effectively utilize both formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress, inform instruction, and improve achievement.
•
Support students in their academic, social, and emotional development, in line with the attributes of the IB learner profile.
•
Prepare students thoroughly for external assessments at IGCSE and A Level.
•
Work collaboratively with colleagues to create the curriculum, share best practices, and continuously improve teaching and learning.
Requirements:
Essential
•
A Bachelor’s Degree in Science or a related field.
•
At least 3 years of teaching experience in Science at the Secondary School level.
•
Experience with IGCSE and/or A Level Science is essential.
•
Strong skills in classroom and behavior management.
•
Proven ability to support and enhance student progress.
•
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
•
Fluent or native-level proficiency in English.
Desirable
•
Experience teaching the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP).
•
Experience in international school settings.
