Northview International School (NVIS) is seeking a committed and student-centered Music Teacher to join our growing international team in Doha, Qatar.

The Role

The chosen candidate will be responsible for teaching Music and inspiring students to refine their technical abilities.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Creating and implementing engaging Music lessons that are consistent with the American curriculum
  • Teaching essential musical skills, including performance and theory
  • Encouraging student creativity through both individual and group musical pursuits
  • Utilizing technology and a range of musical resources to facilitate active learning
  • Assessing and monitoring student progress through both formative and summative evaluations
  • Fostering an inclusive classroom environment where students feel supported and challenged
  • Organizing and directing school performances and musical events
  • Engaging with the wider school community through extracurricular activities and initiatives

Qualifications and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Music or a related field
  • A recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent)
  • Experience in teaching Music
  • Knowledge of or training in an American curriculum framework
  • Ability to impart various musical skills, including instrumental and/or vocal instruction
  • Strong classroom management and communication abilities

Experience in an international school setting is preferred but not essential.
