Position Title: Grade 1 Class Teacher
Reports to: Head of School
FTE: 0.78 (Part-time)
Location: Vancouver Waldorf School
The Vancouver Waldorf School (VWS), located in North Vancouver, British Columbia, is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced High School Math Teacher who possesses a deep mastery of the subject matter, coupled with a strong connection to anthroposophy. While prior experience in Waldorf education is advantageous, the chosen candidate will be tasked with developing lesson plans that adhere to both Waldorf principles and the standards set by the BC Ministry of Education. Our High School educators play a vital role in the VWS community, actively participating in school activities, faculty meetings, events, and committees. A genuine dedication to collaboration with colleagues both within and outside the department is essential.
In addition to instructing the Waldorf High School Math curriculum for Grades 8-12, the teacher will assume various responsibilities, including:
- Chaperoning school excursions
- Delivering Career Education for Grades 8-12
- Supervising Senior Projects for Grade 12 students
- Engaging in committee work
- Participating in section meetings and full faculty assemblies
- Committing to regular professional development
- Assessing student progress, preparing oral and written reports, and conducting parent meetings
Applicants must fulfill the following qualifications:
- A Master's or Bachelor's Degree
- A BC Teaching Certificate or the ability to qualify through the Ministry of Education’s Teacher Certification Branch
- Familiarity with or experience in Waldorf education
- Waldorf Teacher Certification or a willingness to pursue such a program

Salary: $45,150 to $69,669/year prorated according to FTE and experience
