Grade 1 Class Teacher

The Grade 1 Class teacher is committed to Waldorf education and inspiring a love for learning in young children. Key qualities sought include exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to work collaboratively across different departments. The chosen individual will oversee a classroom with up to 30 students and must exhibit strong organizational and classroom management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Planning lessons and organizing the classroom
• Delivering main lessons
• Conducting specialized classes
• Preparing reports for students
• Participating in faculty meetings
• Acting as a liaison for parents
• Hosting parent evenings
• Engaging in all school events
• Providing substitute teaching for other classes when required

Education and Skill Requirements

• BC Teacher Certification
• Preference will be given to those with 5 or more years of experience in Waldorf Class Teaching
• A Waldorf Training Certificate
• Proficiency in both written and spoken English

Employment Terms

This role is a permanent, full-time position (0.8-1.0 FTE), with a salary range of $45,150.00 to $69,669.00 per year, prorated based on FTE and experience.
