Chief John Keenatch High School, situated in Big River First Nation, is on the lookout for a dynamic and enthusiastic Special Education Teacher to become part of their staff for the 2026-2027 academic year.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Design and execute lesson plans across a range of subjects for student learning.
• Assess and evaluate students' understanding and performance of the material.
• Engage in discussions with students and parents regarding educational matters.
• Foster a supportive, inclusive, and safe learning atmosphere that encourages student growth.
• Create lesson plans and instructional strategies aligned with school standards.
• Administer assessments to monitor student progress and pinpoint areas needing enhancement.
• Develop a stimulating learning environment tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.
• Organize various activities such as quizzes, competitions, and group discussions to enrich lesson plans and instructional materials.
• Oversee and manage student behavior and classroom activities effectively.
Requirements:
• Excellent scheduling capabilities.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Bachelor of Education degree and a valid Saskatchewan Professional A teaching certificate.
• Effective classroom management techniques.
• Ability to instruct students with diverse abilities.
• Familiarity with the Saskatchewan Curriculum.
• Cross-cultural experience is beneficial.
• A valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
• Capable of providing a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract, Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check.
• Must be able to verify previous teaching experience, if applicable.
