About This Role
Math Catalyst
Big River First Nation Education is in search of a Math Catalyst to become part of our educational team for the 2026-2027 academic year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collecting resources to enhance math instruction
- Integrating Indigenous lifestyles and educational methods into the math curriculum
- Offering leadership and guidance through modeling and mentoring for teachers in areas such as planning, assessment, and the execution of curriculum objectives and teaching strategies
- Conducting professional development sessions for staff concerning curricular programs and aiding in the application of instructional programs as defined by the curriculum
- Collaborating with in-school personnel to investigate a diverse array of math instructional techniques
- Helping students enhance specific math competencies related to number, patterns/relations, and space/shape components of the curriculum.
Qualifications:
- Excellent organizational and scheduling capabilities
- A Bachelor of Education degree and a Saskatchewan Professional A teaching certificate
- Capacity to instruct students with diverse learning needs
- Familiarity with the Saskatchewan Curriculum
- Cross-cultural experience is considered an asset
- A valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- Ability to furnish a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract and Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check
- Must be able to provide proof of previous teaching experience, if applicable.
