Se-Se-Wa-Hum School Grade 6 Teacher
Se-Se-Wa-Hum School in Big River First Nation is on the lookout for an enthusiastic and positive Grade 6 Teacher to become part of their team for the 2026-2027 academic year.
Key Responsibilities:
• Crafting and executing lesson plans that cover a range of subjects for students
• Assessing and grading students' understanding and performance in their studies
• Engaging in communication with students and parents to address educational matters
• Fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and secure learning atmosphere conducive to student success
• Designing lesson plans and instructional strategies in alignment with school standards
• Administering assessments to gauge student progress and pinpoint areas for enhancement
• Establishing a stimulating learning environment tailored to meet the diverse needs of students
• Utilizing and creating instructional materials and lesson plans through various activities, such as quizzes, competitions, and group discussions
• Overseeing and directing classroom behavior and activities
Requirements:
• Strong scheduling capabilities
• Excellent organizational skills
• Bachelor of Education degree and a Saskatchewan Professional A teaching certificate
• Effective classroom management skills
• Ability to instruct students with diverse learning abilities
• Familiarity with the Saskatchewan Curriculum
• Cross-Cultural experience is advantageous
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
• Ability to provide a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract and Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check
• Capability to present verification of previous teaching experience (if applicable)
