Job Title: Computer Teacher
Reports to: Principal
Position Type: Full-Time
The Computer Teacher will be tasked with developing engaging and thorough lessons for students ranging from Kindergarten to Grade 11 in the area of Computer Technology. This role involves instructing students in fundamental computer skills and various technological subjects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assess student performance through class activities and tests, delivering constructive feedback.
- Design lesson plans tailored to the age and skill levels of the students.
- Assign special projects to encourage student learning and creativity.
- Communicate student progress to parents, especially for those requiring additional support or tutoring.
- Provide suitable resources and educational materials for students.
- Oversee the computer lab, managing inventory of supplies.
- Ensure that all computer equipment is in good working order.
- Keep accurate records of student progress and achievements.
- Maintain classroom discipline and address behavioral issues in line with school policies.
- Organize the classroom with necessary supplies to facilitate learning.
- Stay informed about the latest developments and advancements in computer technology that are relevant to the curriculum.
- Guarantee that the classroom is equipped with current hardware and software.
- Monitor internet usage in the classroom to ensure it aligns with educational purposes.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Comprehensive understanding of computer science and effective teaching strategies for elementary through high school students.
- Strong classroom management capabilities.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to engage with a diverse range of students.
Education and Experience:
A degree in a related field from an accredited university, along with a Manitoba teaching certificate and a minimum of three to five years of teaching experience in computer technology.
