Deputy Head of Department, English (Primary School)

Pride ISM is on the lookout for a thoughtful, strategic, and nurturing Deputy Head of English to become a vital member of our Primary School English Department, commencing in August 2026.

In this role, the Deputy Head of English will collaborate closely with the Head of Department to promote excellence throughout the department, enhance curriculum implementation, and ensure top-notch teaching and learning that aligns with Cambridge standards and our school curriculum. This pivotal middle leadership position is ideal for an energetic educator with robust subject knowledge, a proven track record in the classroom, and a dedication to fostering the growth of both students and fellow teachers.

The ideal candidate will possess:

- A bachelor’s degree in education or a related field; a master’s degree is desirable.

- Extensive teaching experience.

- Prior leadership or managerial experience, such as in a coordinator or lead teacher role.

- A solid grasp of the Cambridge guidelines and school curriculum, along with strong skills in curriculum development and instructional planning.

- Exceptional leadership and team management abilities, with the capacity to motivate and support colleagues.

- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with staff, students, and parents.

- Proficiency in utilizing technology to enhance teaching, learning, and departmental operations.

- A strong commitment to professional development, with skills in mentoring and training teachers.

- A clean background or police check, with no concerns regarding suitability to work with children.
