Position Overview
The One World International School is on the lookout for a dedicated and experienced educator to teach Cambridge IGCSE Business Studies, Cambridge IGCSE Economics, and Lower Secondary Humanities.
The ideal candidate will instruct students in Business Studies and Economics at the IGCSE level, while also providing Humanities education within the Cambridge Lower Secondary framework. This role demands a strong grasp of the subject matter, effective teaching strategies, and the capability to guide students in cultivating analytical skills and a practical understanding of business, economics, and global affairs.
At TOWIS, teachers are expected to create dynamic lessons, closely monitor student progress, and utilize academic data to enhance their planning and instruction. Additionally, the selected individual will play an active part in the broader school community.
Key Responsibilities
• Instruct Cambridge IGCSE Business Studies
• Instruct Cambridge IGCSE Economics
• Instruct Lower Secondary Humanities as part of the Cambridge Lower Secondary programme
• Develop engaging and well-organized lessons that align with Cambridge curriculum standards
• Apply assessment and academic data to guide teaching and facilitate student advancement
• Prepare students thoroughly for IGCSE examinations
• Regularly evaluate student work and provide constructive feedback to foster improvement
• Foster a positive and well-organized classroom atmosphere
• Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the development of the school
• Actively engage in the broader school community
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Education, or a related discipline
• A recognized teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent preferred)
• Demonstrated experience in teaching IGCSE Business Studies and IGCSE Economics
• Familiarity with teaching within the Cambridge curriculum is advantageous
• Experience in teaching Humanities at the lower secondary level
• Proficiency in using assessment and academic data to inform planning and monitor student progress
• Fluent English speaker with strong written and verbal communication skills
