About This Role

The Arbor School is on the lookout for a remarkable individual to fill an exciting role that has opened up within our community. The perfect candidate will possess significant experience in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and will be tasked with supporting a team of inclusion educators, as well as assisting school staff in the application of evidence-based inclusive strategies throughout the primary school, under the guidance of the SENDCo and Head of Thrive. The chosen individual will be responsible for adapting and crafting suitable curricula and interventions to cater to a diverse spectrum of students, including those identified with autism, dyslexia, ADHD, and physical disabilities. This role is ideal for someone who is adept at coaching or mentoring fellow members of the Arbor community and is enthusiastic about engaging in action research initiatives aimed at fostering and developing sustainable skills.

Enough For All, For Ever

Established in 2018, The Arbor School embodies a unique vision of education—one that is experiential, authentic, and inspired by the natural wonders, human creativity, and significant ecological and social challenges present in the Arabian Peninsula.

Our commitment to cultivating a learning community devoted to understanding and enhancing the health of both ecological and human systems as interconnected entities requires a blend of optimism, ambition, and humility. We fundamentally believe in the inherent goodness of individuals and their ability to act with empathy and compassion, which forms the foundation of hope that is essential for learning aimed at fostering a sustainable future. The resilience and determination needed to address challenges of global scale are vital for developing sustainable solutions and facilitating the necessary social changes to bring them to fruition. Recognizing that we are all perpetual learners—not masters—fuels our dedication to inspire a lifelong passion for learning.

By acknowledging the interconnected aspects of cognitive, emotional, and participative domains and their influence on learning, we are implementing a comprehensive approach to education that equips learners to:

• Grasp the interconnected principles of sustainability, individual and collective well-being, and social and environmental justice;

• Discover purpose, joy, and meaning in their relationships with the natural environment and one another, while striving to understand those who differ from themselves; and

• Experience a sense of achievement and self-efficacy through their contributions at home, in school, and within the broader community.
