Responsible for: Physical Education, Sport and Swimming Teacher Male role

Main purpose

The teacher will:

Uphold the professional duties of a teacher and consistently fulfill the expectations outlined in the UK and UAE Teachers' Standards.

Qualifications and experience


Possession of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).


A necessary Bachelor's degree combined with a recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, B.Ed.).


A minimum of 1-2 years of successful experience teaching Art and Design Technology within the British Curriculum (preferred).


Prior teaching experience in the UAE (preferred).

Skills and Knowledge


Familiarity with the British National Curriculum.


Knowledge of adaptive teaching and learning techniques.


A strong understanding of child development and learning processes.


Ability to modify instruction to cater to students’ individual needs.


Capacity to foster effective relationships with students.


Awareness of child safeguarding guidelines and requirements.


Competence in effective behavior management strategies.


Proficient ICT skills, particularly in utilizing technology to enhance learning.


Understanding of the safe and ethical use of AI in educational contexts.


Awareness of UAE policies and inspection frameworks (preferred).

Duties and responsibilities

Teaching


Design and deliver well-structured lessons to designated classes, adhering to the school’s pedagogical methods, planning, curriculum, and schemes of work.


Assess, monitor, document, and communicate the learning needs, progress, and achievements of assigned students, utilizing assessment data productively.


Tailor teaching to address the strengths and needs of students while setting high expectations that inspire, motivate, and challenge them.


Encourage positive progress and outcomes among students.


Exhibit strong subject knowledge and understanding of the curriculum.


Engage in preparations for external assessments.


Utilize culturally appropriate resources in accordance with UAE laws and expectations.


Develop curricula and lessons that comply with UAE laws and customs.

Whole-school organisation, strategy and development


Assist in the development, implementation, and assessment of the school’s policies and practices to support its vision and values.


Make a meaningful contribution to the overall life and ethos of the school.


Collaborate with others on curriculum and student development to achieve coordinated outcomes.


Provide cover in situations where another teacher is unexpectedly unavailable.


Conduct assigned extracurricular activities before, during, and after school hours.

Promote the safety and well-being of students.


Maintain discipline and order among students, effectively managing behavior to ensure a safe and conducive learning environment.

Direct and supervise assigned support staff and, when appropriate, other teachers.

Safeguarding


Align with statutory safeguarding guidance (e.g., Keeping Children Safe in Education) and adhere to our safeguarding and child protection policies.


Collaborate with the designated safeguarding lead (DSL) to promote the best interests of students, including sharing concerns as necessary.


Advocate for the safeguarding of all students in the school at all times.


Complete all required safeguarding training as needed.

Other areas of responsibility


Ensure compliance with all regulations, policies, and frameworks mandated by the KHDA, BSO, and the UAE Ministry of Education.


Assist the leadership team in preparing for and executing the KHDA inspection process, developing and implementing post-inspection action plans.


Contribute to the success of the UAE National Agenda.


Maintain positive, professional communications with KHDA and Government Officials, representing the school at required forums and meetings as requested by the Principal.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
