About This Role

Deputy Housemaster / Deputy Housemistress 2026
From September 2026

OUR PHILOSOPHY

At Beau Soleil, we value action and engagement. This belief is integral to our approach as educators and in fostering student growth. We cultivate a community that emphasizes participation both inside and outside the classroom.

Our distinctive holistic education is rooted in four guiding principles: Respect, Responsibility, Ambition, and Determination, shaping the social fabric of our diverse international student body. Our students hail from over fifty countries, bringing various academic histories and future aspirations.

With academic programs offered in both English and French, our students earn either an IB or Advanced Studies Diploma. Small class sizes enable a tailored educational experience, and faculty are encouraged to innovate in their teaching methods.

OUR COMMUNITY

Situated in the picturesque Villars-sur-Ollon, our school provides an enviable lifestyle, featuring skiing in winter and a plethora of outdoor and sporting activities year-round. Cultural hubs such as Montreux, Lausanne, and Geneva are easily accessible for enriching experiences.

The Beau Soleil campus boasts outstanding facilities, creating an inspiring work environment. Our ongoing development and maintenance initiatives ensure that both students and staff flourish in a space they can take pride in.

YOUR PROFILE

Step into a role where each day offers opportunities for connection, challenge, and impactful mentorship.

At Collège Beau Soleil, boarding is more than just accommodation; it’s a space where friendships blossom, confidence is nurtured, and unforgettable experiences are created. Our boarding houses are vibrant and inclusive communities where students find support and inspiration.

As Deputy Housemaster / Deputy Housemistress, you will collaborate closely with the Housemaster or Housemistress to foster a home characterized by warmth, structure, and purpose. You will set the tone for daily activities, providing guidance, encouragement, and care—whether during morning routines, weekend events, or evening check-ins.

In the Housemaster or Housemistress's absence, you will ensure the house operates smoothly, making sure every student feels acknowledged, respected, and empowered.

This role is fundamentally focused on people. You will serve as a mentor and role model, providing a steady presence during a crucial time in the lives of young individuals—socially, emotionally, and personally.

This position merges pastoral leadership with a reduced teaching schedule, alongside active engagement in the school’s co-curricular activities, from creative initiatives to alpine adventures.

We seek an empathetic, dedicated, and collaborative individual who thrives in a boarding setting and is passionate about guiding young people to develop into confident, kind, and resilient individuals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The following outlines the main duties and scope of the role. These are not exhaustive and may adjust based on the post holder's skills and the school’s needs.

• Assist the Housemaster / Housemistress in overseeing the pastoral care of students in their residence, manage the house in their absence, and play a key role in daily operations.
• Foster strong, trust-based relationships within the house.
• Establish effective communication with parents of students in the house, proactively engaging them alongside the Housemaster / Housemistress.
• Acquire experience and skills that will support a future career in boarding education.
• Share and develop best practices based on your expertise.
• Advocate for the broader aspirations and values of the school.
• Teach a limited number of classes.
• Contribute to school life beyond the classroom, actively participating in weekend activities and residential trips as appropriate.
