Upper School Head of Science

Inherited from over 450 years of educational excellence at Harrow School, UK, Asia International School Limited (AISL) boasts more than 20 years of expertise in the education sector, having established international schools in Bangkok (1998), Beijing (2005), Hong Kong (2012), and Shanghai (2016).

Harrow International School (HIS) and Harrow LiDe School Haikou represent a significant initiative for the Hainan government as it seeks to develop Haikou into a hub for international education. Harrow Haikou stands as the first prestigious educational institution in the province, aiming to elevate the standards of quality education in the region.

Situated in the Jiangdong District, at the north of Jiangdong Avenue and the south side of Linhai Third Road, Harrow Haikou offers K-12 international and bilingual education for both foreign and local day and boarding students. These schools welcomed their first students in September 2020.

We are on the lookout for high-performing staff for positions starting in August 2025. Successful candidates will be offered renewable contracts for two years, featuring highly competitive employment terms and exceptional working conditions.

Please consider applying for this position if you fulfill the following criteria:

• A relevant degree, UK PGCE, or another teaching qualification that provides QTS
• At least two years of teaching experience
• Knowledge of the National Curriculum of England (including IGCSE/GCSE and/or A Levels, as applicable)
• A genuine passion for teaching and a commitment to the holistic development of students
• A strong sense of professionalism and a focus on the well-being of children
• Recent and active participation in extracurricular activities
• Respect for all members of the school community, regardless of their role, age, or ethnic background
• Experience working with students for whom English is a second language
• A positive, solution-oriented approach to work
• A clean International Child Protection Certificate (ICPC) or police check (for those who have not worked in the UK) with no concerns regarding suitability to work with children
