About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic language instructor who can primarily teach Spanish while also having the capability to teach French to lower secondary students (Grades 6–8). Candidates with experience in IBDP Spanish and/or High School Diploma Spanish are highly encouraged to apply.
The ideal applicant will ignite a passion for languages, enhance linguistic skills, and provide culturally rich learning experiences tailored to students of varying abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Spanish to students in Grades 6–12, covering both High School Diploma and/or IBDP Spanish.
- Instruct French for lower secondary learners (Grades 6–8).
- Develop and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that advance communication skills, intercultural awareness, and language proficiency.
- Set high expectations that motivate and challenge students.
- Utilize effective assessment techniques to track student progress and guide learning.
- Adapt instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners, including EAL and high-achieving students.
- Contribute to curriculum development, lesson planning, and departmental resources.
- Foster a positive and respectful classroom environment based on mutual respect.
- Effectively communicate with parents regarding student progress and well-being.
- Engage with the wider school community through extracurricular activities and cultural initiatives.
- Uphold the highest standards of professional conduct, safeguarding, and health & safety.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or Languages (along with a teaching qualification).
- Valid teaching certification meeting Qatar MOEHE requirements.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience teaching Spanish at the secondary level.
- Familiarity with High School Diploma, IB Diploma Programme, or A Level Spanish.
- Ability to teach French to lower secondary students (Grades 6–8).
- Strong subject knowledge and understanding of modern language teaching methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Preferred experience in an international or multicultural educational environment.
