Mathematics Teacher

Avenor College is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher of Mathematics to join our team, focusing on teaching Mathematics from KS3 through to A Level. We invite qualified Mathematics educators to apply, including Early Career Teachers who wish to complete the ECT programme with us.

Our new Senior building is equipped with fully resourced classrooms, providing an excellent environment for teaching. The college promotes a variety of opportunities for both personal and professional growth, empowering teachers with voice, choice, and agency.

At the A Level, our students engage with the CAIE 9709 curriculum following their prior study of the CAIE 0580 Mathematics syllabus. In Key Stage 3, we offer a specialized Romanian national strand for a small group of students, while the majority follow the Cambridge checkpoint, taking an external examination at the conclusion of Grade 8. Our results, along with other indicators, reflect the successful implementation of our Mathematics learning programme.

We are looking for candidates who fulfill the following criteria:
- Possess comprehensive and adaptable subject knowledge to effectively teach Mathematics at Middle School, IGCSE, and A Level.
- Understand how students learn, inspiring and challenging them by crafting an engaging learning environment.
- Employ the scientific inquiry cycle to cultivate investigation skills across all year groups.
- Contribute to curriculum enhancement by revising schemes of work and collaborate with colleagues from other subjects to ensure coherent curriculum integration.
- Demonstrate fluency in English.
- Foster trust and confidence among students, parents, and colleagues.
- Support the broader goals of Avenor College.
