Al Basma is a well-regarded, high-performing ENC School that has become a popular choice among families. We are seeking a French teacher to become part of our successful French department for the upcoming academic year.
Our school operates on a seven-form entry model and serves 1950 students from FS1 to Y13. In September 2020, we launched a new state-of-the-art Primary block for Year 3 to Year 6. We are experiencing growth at a rate of approximately 200 students per year and anticipate reaching full capacity of 2400 students within the next three years.
As a BSO school (EduBase No.143834), we offer candidates holding QTS the opportunity to participate in the UK recognized DfE statutory induction program through the Early Career Framework, in collaboration with ESP Education.

We adhere to the 2014 National Curriculum of England and the updated 2020 Development Matters Framework for EYFS. For students in Years 4 to 10, we utilize both GL CAT4 and GL Progress tests. Additionally, we offer a selection of GCSE, iGCSE, iAS, and A Levels from Cambridge, Edexcel, and Pearson exam boards for our older students. We have recently begun introducing a variety of BTEC qualifications to tailor educational pathways. Each year, a select group of students studies French at GCSE and A Level.
The school first achieved BSO (British Schools Overseas) accreditation in May 2016, just two years after opening, and has continued to enhance its performance, attaining a good rating with an increasing number of outstanding features in May 2022. Since January 2017, we have consistently received Band A ratings in ADEK Irtiq'aa inspections. Most recently, in February 2022, the school strengthened its Very Good ADEK grading with several outstanding features.

• An internationally recognized Bachelor’s Degree in Education with a specialization in French and QTS or an equivalent teaching license.
or
• An internationally recognized Bachelor’s Degree in French or a closely related field along with an internationally recognized teaching qualification such as PGCE or PGDE in French and QTS or equivalent.
or
• A Master's Degree in French combined with one year of teaching experience in French.
Successful applicants must provide two supporting references (including from the most recent employer) and a police clearance certificate, ACRO, or DBS that is no older than three months.
