We are currently seeking an experienced English Teacher to join our English and Literature Department, focusing on Advanced Placement (AP) courses for High/Secondary School students.

II. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide instruction in English Language and Literature for Grades 6–12, including AP courses as needed.

• Create assessments that are aligned with AP standards, such as Free Response Questions (FRQs), document analysis, and extended response tasks.

• Cultivate students' critical thinking abilities.

• Participate in departmental planning, curriculum assessment, and resource development.

• Maintain high academic standards while supporting student well-being.

• Be considerate of colleagues' needs and work collaboratively, adhering to deadlines and team dynamics.

• Actively engage in departmental meetings, follow policies, and aid in the efficient functioning of the department.

• Promote professional discussions, share innovative teaching techniques, and support fellow educators in improving best practices and new initiatives.

• Get involved in and support various activities organized by the department and the School.

• Actively contribute to interdisciplinary connections and Leadership in Action projects.

• Stay updated on subject matter advancements and general educational trends.

REQUIREMENTS

• A university degree in Education, English, or a closely related field.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in education.

• A valid teaching qualification is required.

• Experience in teaching high school English; familiarity with the AP curriculum is a significant advantage.

• Knowledge of inquiry and project-based learning methodologies.

• Ability to customize instruction for students with diverse learning needs.

• Proficiency in English is essential.

• A culturally responsive teaching approach with a strong emphasis on safeguarding.

• A high level of professionalism and a commitment to children's well-being.

• Recent and active involvement in extracurricular activities.

• Respect for all members of the school community, regardless of position, gender, age, or ethnicity.

• A positive and solution-focused attitude towards work.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
