DUTIES
Reporting to the Associate Vice-President of Academic Quality and Excellence, the Learning Innovations Specialist plays a vital role in assisting faculty with the strategic application of learning technologies to improve teaching and learning in both campus-based and community-based programs. This position offers expertise in digital tools and emerging technologies while collaborating with IT to evaluate the compatibility and functionality of various learning platforms. The specialist will also provide leadership for institutional initiatives related to AI, Augmented Reality (AR), and digital learning, supporting AQE priorities and efforts aimed at academic enhancement.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Educational Technology, Instructional Design, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, with proven experience in utilizing learning technologies; an equivalent combination of education and experience may also be accepted.
- Familiarity with a wide spectrum of learning platforms and digital tools (including software, AI tools, and AR/VR applications).
- Capacity to assess pedagogical and technical compatibility and to identify suitable applications within a post-secondary environment.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development to stay updated with educational technologies, digital pedagogy, and current trends.
- Ability to assist faculty in adopting and integrating learning technologies into their courses.
- Skill in identifying gaps, foreseeing challenges, and contributing to the development of a comprehensive technology ecosystem.
- Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Effective presentation and facilitation skills.
- Good time management skills.
- Dedication to lifelong learning.

ASSETS:
- A Master’s degree in Education, Educational Technology, Instructional Design, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, with relevant experience in utilizing learning technologies.
- Understanding of the northern Manitoba context, including issues related to digital equity.
- Knowledge and appreciation of Indigenous cultures.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Candidates must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents of Canada.
- A valid Class 5 Driver’s license is required as travel is necessary.
- Flexibility to work evenings is expected.
