Uphold and promote the ethos and standards of excellence as outlined in the GEMS Core Values.


Implement the prescribed curriculum, demonstrating current and accurate knowledge of subject content.


Design and deliver engaging lessons that inspire students. Develop and utilize appropriate materials and classroom settings to accommodate various learning styles.


Provide written documentation of lesson planning and preparation upon request. Maintain thorough records of curriculum plans, attendance, teaching resources, assessment strategies, etc.


Ensure adherence to GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct consistently.


Teach students based on their individual needs, employing suitable teaching strategies that cater to diverse abilities, including late entrants, ESL learners, and both low and high academic achievers.


Assign and assess student work. Monitor, document, and report on students' academic progress and achievements, using assessments to tailor the curriculum to meet individual needs.


Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing media and technology within the classroom.


Support the overall development and well-being of students, offering guidance on educational issues.


Engage with external stakeholders as necessary (e.g., Ministry of Education representatives).


Participate in appraisal and Performance Management processes, as well as Continuing Professional Development (CPD).


Collaborate with colleagues in the creation and enhancement of teaching materials, resources, study programs, and pastoral care arrangements.


Take part in, and lead when appropriate, co-curricular and extracurricular activities within the school. Foster positive working relationships through proactive leadership and sharing of insights, materials, and experiences.


Monitor and ensure safe and appropriate behavior among students. Develop and implement strategies to promote self-discipline and address disruptive conduct.


Exemplify and advocate for cultural awareness and understanding while fostering a passion for learning.


Assist in organizing school events and functions (e.g., inter-house competitions, concerts, school plays, award ceremonies, etc.).


Regularly communicate with parents to promote the GEMS philosophy and core values; keep families informed about student progress while maintaining confidentiality regarding student-related matters.


Demonstrate commitment and initiative beyond the standard workday when additional effort is required.


Attend staff meetings and participate in committees as needed.


Carry out other responsibilities as assigned by direct and indirect reporting line managers/supervisors.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
