As a teacher at our institution, you will significantly influence not only the content of our students' learning but also the methods by which they engage with it. You will create captivating, concept-driven lessons that spark curiosity, promote reflection, and encourage students to relate their learning to their own lives—both locally and globally. Teachers in our Upper School are also expected to participate in the advisory program.

About the Role
We are on the lookout for a dynamic and imaginative MYP Design Teacher with a strong emphasis on Digital Design (including computer science, robotics, coding, and electronics) to become a part of our international school community in Luxembourg.

This position is well-suited for an educator who believes that digital tools and technologies can enable students to evolve into creative problem-solvers and thoughtful designers. While the primary focus is on Digital Design, experience in Product Design is also appreciated as part of the comprehensive IB MYP Design curriculum. Additionally, familiarity with fundamental computer science principles, including programming basics, networking concepts, cybersecurity, digital safety, privacy, and data protection would be advantageous.

At our school, learning is propelled by curiosity, inquiry, and hands-on experimentation. We seek a teacher who relishes guiding students through the design cycle, assisting them in prototyping, testing, iterating, and reflecting while developing essential design and technological skills.

What You'll Do
As our MYP Design Teacher, you will assist students in building the confidence and skills necessary to design, create, and innovate using digital technologies, while also grasping the wider design process.
● Develop inquiry-based and project-based learning experiences that link digital technologies with genuine design challenges.
● Teach IB MYP Design, focusing particularly on Digital Design, including digital creation, design software, and technology-centered problem-solving.
● Create engaging digital design projects where students devise innovative digital solutions to real-world problems.
● Incorporate Product Design experiences (such as woodworking, CAD, laser cutting, and 3D printing) to help students comprehend prototyping, materials, and the physical design process.
● Assist students in cultivating strong design thinking and computational thinking skills, including procedural, logical, concurrent, abstract, and recursive reasoning.
● Differentiate instruction to ensure that all students can access and thrive in the curriculum, including English Language Learners.
● Utilize a Learning Management System to organize course materials, foster collaboration, and engage students.
● Collaborate with colleagues to create meaningful learning experiences and exchange best practices.
● Contribute to the wellbeing and pastoral life of the school by serving as a student advisor.
● Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where every learner feels valued and supported.
● Employ continuous assessment and feedback to facilitate student growth.
● Actively participate in the vibrant school community—from parent evenings to community events to leading extracurricular activities.
● Engage in professional development and introduce fresh ideas into the classroom.
● Effectively incorporate AI in guiding learners by adopting a human-centered approach, promoting ethical principles and responsible usage, and equipping students with the knowledge and skills to create and utilize AI to enhance their education.

Profile: (training, experience, skills, and aptitudes necessary for the role)
● At least two years of successful teaching experience, preferably within the IB MYP framework.
● Extensive experience teaching Digital Design, including creative digital tools, digital production, or computational design.
● Experience in teaching fundamental computer science concepts is a plus.
● Experience with integrating Product Design projects or physical prototyping into the curriculum is a plus.
● A passion for inquiry-based, concept-driven, and project-based learning.
● Confidence in integrating technology-supported learning into the classroom.
● Ability to demonstrate AI Literacy skills: understanding AI principles, exploring AI applications, directing AI effectively, evaluating AI outputs, and using AI responsibly.
● Experience in supporting diverse learners, including those learning English as an additional language.
● A collaborative mindset and enjoyment of working within a professional learning community.
● A strong commitment to student wellbeing and holistic development.
● Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Design, Technology, Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred).
● Valid teaching qualification or certification required.
● Fluency in English (near-native level).
● Experience in an international school context is advantageous.
