About This Role

Position Summary

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Mathematics Teacher to become part of our team, providing stimulating and high-quality instruction in MYP and slight DP Mathematics. The ideal candidate will customize lessons to accommodate the diverse needs of our students, promote a profound understanding of mathematical principles, and contribute to the overall academic achievements of our school.

General responsibilities:

• Deliver dynamic lessons that align with the MYP and slight DP Mathematics curriculum, emphasizing the enhancement of critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

• Differentiated Instruction: Modify teaching strategies and resources to cater to the varied learning styles, strengths, and abilities of all students, ensuring every learner can reach their maximum potential.

• Curriculum Planning: Create and execute comprehensive lesson plans that align with the MYP/DP Mathematics framework, helping students build a solid grasp of fundamental mathematical concepts.

• Assessment & Evaluation: Design, administer, and evaluate a range of tasks and tests to track student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.

• Student Support: Provide additional assistance through supplementary lessons, individual tutoring, and mentoring for students who require further help.

• Collaboration: Collaborate with the Mathematics Department and other subject educators to develop interdisciplinary units and projects that enrich student learning.

• Extracurricular Involvement: Lead and assist with extracurricular activities such as math clubs and other mathematics-related events.

• Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional learning to stay abreast of the latest trends in math education, IB methodologies, and technology integration.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related discipline is essential.

• A teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, teaching credential) is preferred.

• At least 5 years of experience teaching mathematics at the secondary school level, with expertise in adapting lessons for diverse learning needs.

• Experience in teaching MYP and DP Mathematics is an advantage.

• Strong understanding of the IB MYP and DP curriculum and assessment methods.

• Ability to motivate and engage students, fostering a passion for mathematics and cultivating a positive learning atmosphere.

• Exceptional organizational, communication, and classroom management abilities.

• Proficient in utilizing digital tools and technology to enhance the teaching and learning experience.

• Fluent in English (C2 level).

• Enthusiastic about mathematics and committed to supporting students in achieving academic excellence.

• Keen on customizing lessons to accommodate the diverse needs of students and fostering an appreciation for the subject.

• Collaborative and adaptable, with a readiness to contribute to a vibrant and supportive team.

Working Days/Hours:

Monday to Friday, 8:00-16:00

Recruitment Process:

• Panel interview with the hiring team (30 minutes).

• Trial lesson (60 minutes).

• Interview with the Head of School, Secondary Principal, and Faculty Leader (30 minutes).

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
