About This Role

Middle School Principal – Raffles American School

Working Hours: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM

Reports To: Executive Principal

The Middle School Principal serves a vital leadership function in developing and directing the Middle School program at Raffles American School. This role encompasses the responsibility of managing the Middle School division, supporting educators, and ensuring a robust academic and pastoral atmosphere for students.

The Principal collaborates closely with the school's leadership team on strategic and operational issues, playing an integral part in the school’s continual enhancement. Responsibilities include overseeing the implementation of the curriculum, aiding in accreditation processes, and ensuring that educational practices align with school standards and long-term objectives.

As the institution expands, the Middle School Principal will also engage in both short- and long-term planning efforts, including the establishment of the school's new campus. This involves creating programs and systems tailored to meet the changing needs of Middle School students.

This position is a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), working in partnership to ensure coherence, alignment, and ongoing improvement throughout the school.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction for the Middle School division.

• Supervise, assist, and assess middle school educators and staff.

• Cultivate a collaborative and professional environment within the middle school team.

• Oversee the execution of the curriculum and its alignment with school standards.

• Assist with accreditation processes and initiatives aimed at school improvement.

• Monitor student achievement and support systems that foster academic success and student well-being.

• Address student behavioral and disciplinary issues with fairness, professionalism, and consistency.

• Communicate effectively with parents, students, and staff.

• Collaborate closely with the Senior Leadership Team on school-wide initiatives and strategic planning.

• Contribute to planning related to the school's growth and future campus expansion.

• Lead and advocate for professional development opportunities for middle school faculty.

• Partner with teachers to identify instructional priorities and areas for development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

• Valid teaching qualification or license.

• A minimum of 5 years of teaching experience.

• At least 2 years of leadership experience in an educational setting.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Capable of managing diverse situations with professionalism, tact, and adaptability.

• A collaborative approach and the ability to function effectively as part of a leadership team.

• Strong organizational capabilities and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

• Experience in an international school context is advantageous but not mandatory.

We offer competitive and negotiable salaries for fully qualified candidates. The role commences in July 2026, with working hours from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

While there is no additional housing stipend, Raffles American School (RAS) offers several benefits to overseas hires. These include reimbursement for your initial flight to Thailand, as well as round-trip airfare back to your home country at the conclusion of each contract (successful candidates will receive details from HR regarding flight selection). RAS will also cover all costs associated with visa and work permit applications. Furthermore, we provide comprehensive insurance coverage, which includes medical, accident, disability, and life insurance.

Compensation

฿90,000 - ฿130,000 per month
