About This Role

JOB IDENTITY

Location: Brookes Moscow, Russia

Reports to: Head of Primary

We are looking for a passionate pre-K teacher to lead a classroom filled with young learners through a range of educational activities, including arts and crafts, free play, storytelling, and field trips. Your primary role will be to impart essential skills needed for kindergarten, such as recognizing numbers and letters, nurturing social skills, and functioning effectively within a classroom environment.

Key qualities of an effective pre-K teacher include patience, compassion, and enthusiasm. You should have the ability to motivate, support, and nurture young children, each with their unique strengths, challenges, and personalities. Ideal candidates will also possess creative thinking and strong organizational skills to design and implement engaging and innovative lessons that meet educational objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Establish a caring, secure, play-based Early Years setting that adheres to developmentally appropriate strategies and American early childhood education principles.

• Develop daily lesson plans that focus on early literacy, phonological awareness, foundational numeracy, fine motor skills, speaking and listening, and early inquiry abilities.

• Organize learning centers, sensory experiences, guided play activities, STEAM setups, and outdoor explorations in line with developmental goals.

• Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor progress in cognitive, social-emotional, physical, and language areas.

• Adapt activities for students with diverse developmental levels, learning preferences, and language backgrounds (including EAL support).

• Encourage social-emotional growth through conflict resolution, established routines, emotional literacy, and collaborative play.

• Maintain regular communication with parents; offer updates on learning, workshops, and transition assistance.

• Work alongside specialists such as SENCO, occupational therapists, counselors, and language educators.

• Keep the classroom clean and organized, ensuring adherence to all Early Years safety and health standards.

• Instill respect and discipline to facilitate effective classroom experiences.

• Supervise students during non-class times, such as lunch, recess, or field trips.

• Ensure a tidy, safe, and well-maintained classroom environment.

• Oversee children during meals, playtime, naptime, and transitions.

• Participate in Early Years events, celebrations, and seasonal activities.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a relevant field.

• Experience in Primary Teaching, Child Development, or a similar area.

• A valid teaching certification is preferred.

• At least 2 years of experience in Early Years (experience in international schools is preferred).

• Comprehensive knowledge of early literacy development, play-based pedagogy, behavior management, and developmental milestones.

• Strong capability in providing EAL support and familiarity with language acquisition processes.

• Exceptional communication skills and empathy towards young children.

• Ability to collaborate effectively within a multicultural setting.

• High levels of patience, creativity, and emotional resilience, along with strong safeguarding awareness.

• Attributes such as patience, optimism, compassion, enthusiasm, and empathy.

• Mediation skills for resolving conflicts among children.

• A creative approach to designing innovative and engaging lesson plans.

• Capacity to serve as a positive role model for young minds.

Compensation

$4,000 - $5,500 per month
